CE Hours: 0
In 1991, Jim and Carolyn Pride founded Pride Mountain Vineyards, a winery in the Napa- Sonoma region that quickly grew to 20,000 cases per year. Prior to founding Pride Winery, Jim Pride, DDS, practiced dentistry from 1960 to 1967 before becoming a professor and then assistant dean at the University of the Pacific Dental School. In addition to his teaching and administrative responsibilities, Jim helped design various clinics run by the university, where he developed new ideas surrounding dental office architecture and management. In 1974, he created his own company, The Pride Institute, to provide practice management services to dentists throughout the United States and other countries. He was also a prolific lecturer, giving continuing education seminars about the business of dentistry over a 30-year span. Jim led both The Pride Institute and the winery until he passed away from bladder cancer in 2004. Prior to his death, Jim’s daughter Suzanne Pride Bryan and son Steve Pride bought the winery. Steve has managed the winery ever since. He will be facilitating the virtual tasting along with senior wine educator Nikki Lamberti.
