In this presentation, attendees will be exposed to the financial concepts required to tackle and improve their finances. Veterinary professionals are often ill-prepared to handle their personal finances due to the lack of a financial curriculum in the vast majority of veterinary schools. Considering the high student loan burden and the rising debt-to-income ratio, it is crucial to be familiar with the basics of financial literacy, and to use that information to develop a successful financial plan. Among other topics, attendees should expect to gain information about retirement accounts, life and disability insurance, investing, and learning how to distinguish between financial professionals that have their interests in mind and the ones that don't.
Learning Objectives:
Become familiar with the basics of financial literacy, from must-have insurance, crushing student debt and retirement planning
Identify if financial planner/advisors have your interests in mind (or his/her own)
