Chief of Clinical Microbiology and Head of Diagnostic Services at the Matthew J Ryan Veterinary Hospital at the University of Pennsylvania, School of Veterinary Medicine. Research focus is the molecular characterization and epidemiology of infections caused by multiple drug resistant (MDR) Salmonella, Staphylococcus spp. and E. coli. I have a key role with the International Society for Companion Animal Infectious Diseases (ISCAID) in the development of treatment guidelines for common infections of dogs and cats. Current interests include carbapenem-resistant Enterobacteriaceae isolated from dogs and cats.
