Dr. Daniel Santa Mina is an Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto in the Faculty of Kinesiology and Physical Education and the Faculty of Medicine in the Department of Surgery. Dr. Santa Mina is also a Clinician Investigator at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre Research Institute where he conducts research on the physiological, functional, and psychosocial effects of exercise for cancer survivors. In particular, his research program focuses on the role of prehabilitation prior to various cancer treatments and implementation strategies for exercise integration into standard cancer care. Dr. Santa Mina completed his PhD in Kinesiology and Health Sciences at York University and a Post-Doctoral Fellowship in the Department of Surgical Oncology (Division of Urology) at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre. He is also a Registered Kinesiologist (Ontario) and Certified Exercise Physiologist (CSEP) with advanced training in exercise in oncology.
