The approval of a safe and effective vaccine against SARS-CoV-2 is top of mind for us all. Across the globe, numerous vaccines are currently in Phase 3 trials, including RNA vaccines, inactivated vaccines, and adenovirus vector vaccines. But beyond development, production and distribution present additional challenges and opportunities that require attention today.
Please join this interactive session and engage with experts and colleagues to address various aspects of SARS-Co-2 vaccine development and deployment. Among the topics that will be discussed are the complexities of immunization in patients with Rheumatic diseases and the nuances of vaccine development.
Our special guests will include researcher Dan Barouch, MD, PhD, a virologist who is leading the development of a potential SARS-CoV-2 vaccine; Grace Lee, MD, a member of the ACIP, which is the group that develops recommendations on the use of vaccines in the civilian population of the United States; Ambassador Jimmy Kolker, MPA, who since retiring is working towards universal health coverage for neglected patients and currently focused on global distribution of COVID vaccines; and Leonard Calabrese, DO a rheumatologist specializing in the area of rheumatology and infectious disease interactions.
