Diversity, inclusion and racial disparities
It is well documented that support and education programs provide skills and coping strategies for patients and their families, and assist them in meeting the emotional and physical challenges of living with rheumatic illness.
This study group seeks to engage health care professionals in a discussion about developing support and education programs, with adaptations during COVID and beyond. In an interactive dialogue, together we will explore evidence-based and promising practices in this area. The discussion will include effective features and models, needs assessments, incorporating the patient perspective, addressing the needs of diverse communities, and defining relevant outcome measures. Participants will have the opportunity to consult with our team of experts and will receive curated resource packets.
