At this session, faculty draw on their decades of grants experience to offer practical tips to investigators launching their careers. Drs. Robinson and Costenbader have succeeded repeatedly at obtaining research funding while building networks of collaborators to advance their research careers. Dr. Peyman has 15 years of experience advising successful and unsuccessful NIH grant applicants and has participated in several ACR and RRF educational activities related to career development and grantsmanship. The scope of their talks will encompass grantsmanship expertise, basic research prowess, how to manage networks of mentors and mentees, and sophistication in the conduct of clinical research, all topics that are highly relevant to success in rheumatology research.
