The Commonwealth of Massachusetts has initiated projects across the state focused on improving accessibility to its higher education programs and implementing inclusive design practices. The Statewide Accessibility Initiative, two landscape architects, and one architect will provide case study examples at Cape Cod Community College and Massasoit Community College on design strategies, lessons learned and transformed campuses. Attendees can expect to learn about improving accessibility at multiple scales, addressing connections between building entrances and sites, and creating new campus standards to promote social sustainability on future projects.
