Vanessa Ho, MD, MPH, FACS is an Associate Professor of Surgery at MetroHealth Medical Center and holds a secondary faculty appointment in the Department of Population and Quantitative Health Sciences at Case Western Reserve Univeristy in Cleveland, Ohio. Her health services research career is devoted to exploring complex factors that go into decision making and recovery after emergency surgery for high risk patients. She has a particular interest in Geriatrics and Palliative Care, and serve as the representative from the Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma to the Geriatrics for Specialists Initiative at the American Geriatrics Society. She has utilized these skills to study large databases for risk stratification and prognostication in surgical disease, supported in the past by the AAST Research and Education Scholarship and currently by a KL2 career development award.
