Dr. Alexandra Briggs is currently a Trauma and Acute Care Surgeon and Assistant Professor of Surgery at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH. She previously trained at Brigham and Women’s Hospital for her General Surgery Residency and University of Pittsburgh Medical Center for Surgical Critical Care and Acute Care Surgery fellowship. Her research is focused on trauma in active geriatric patients and emergency general surgery care in rural geriatric patients. She serves as the Chair of the Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma (EAST) Ad Hoc Task Force on Rural Trauma, and is a member of the American Association for the Surgery of Trauma (AAST) committee on Geriatric Trauma and Acute Care Surgery. She also is subcommittee chair for the EAST Manuscript and Review Committee’s Twitter Journal Club. Outside of her work, she spends her time on photography and hiking with her dog Fenway on beautiful trails throughout New England.
