Laura is an Environmental Manager with Orsted suporting the US Market portfolio. She has over 25 years of experience as a marine biologist and regulatory specialist, with a focus on marine mammal science, policy and management. She spent the first decade of her career working in North Atlantic waters as both a commercial fisheries observer and right whale biologist. She has since worked worldwide on all ocean basins on a variety of projects supporting directed marine science research for federal agencies and academic institutions as well as resource mitigation and monitoring for the marine industry and the US Navy. Laura also worked for the Oil and Gas sector in Alaska supporting permitting and compliance and returned to the New England region to support the U.S. transition to renewable energy in 2017.
Laura has expertise in development of effective stakeholder supported mitigation and monitoring measures for marine resources. She also has broad expertise in range of environmental laws and permitting requirements applicable to offshore energy development at federal, state and local levels. Currently she supports all US market projects and provides strategic regulatory and environmental advisement .
Laura is a Project Management Professional and received her BS in Biology and BA in Anthropology from the University at Buffalo and her MS in Coastal Zone Management from NOVA Southeastern University.
