Amanda Evans, PhD, RPA is the Maritime Services Practice Leader for Gray & Pape, Inc. a national consulting firm specializing in cultural resources management and historic preservation services in business since 1987. Dr. Evans has over 20 years of professional experience, including interpretation of marine geophysical data working in the offshore survey industry. She has worked on submerged cultural resources ranging from submerged prehistoric landscapes to WWII-era casualties, post-hurricane damage assessments, and has worked within unique marine environments including unexploded ordnance dumping zones. Dr. Evans has served as both a geophysical operator and a client representative offshore, and has directed remotely-operated vehicle (ROV) and commercial diver surveys of archaeological resources. She has conducted numerous investigations to determine potential eligibility for nomination of shipwrecks and submerged resources to the National Register of Historic Places. She regularly provides advice to clients regarding survey planning specifications in order to meet BOEM’s regulatory requirements.
