John O. Borland received his BS and MS degrees from MIT and has received 6 patents, 2 patent pending and published over 160 papers in the areas of advanced semiconductor device processing, high efficiency c-Si solar cells and residential solar + multi-storage for maximum cost savings. As a consultant over the past 2 years he has published and given technical and educational talks on how to more efficiently integrate rooftop solar-PV with multiple storage techniques to reduce residential grid-buy electricity to Zero Grid-Buy or Equivalence on sunny days with Island Nano-Grid mode of operation for Off-Grid thus achieving resilience and 100% renewable energy from the sun heat and light energy ~92% of the time a year. He has given talks at IEEE-PVSC 2017-2019, EU-PVSEC-2011, 2012, 2017 & 2019, Asia PVSEC-2017, 7th WCPVEC-2018, Intersolar North America 2018 and SPI/ESI 2017&2018 with articles in Renewable Energy World August 2, 2017 and May 1, 2018. He is a senior member of IEEE, the IEEE Region 6 Central Area Section Chair and the IEEE Power & Energy Society Hawaii chapter Chair.
