Energy Optimization Modeling Engineer
National Renewable Energy Laboratory
Kathleen Krah is an Energy Optimization Modeling Engineer at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL). Her work in NREL’s Integrated Applications Center uses techno-economic modeling and optimization to evaluate, size, and dispatch distributed energy technologies, particularly renewable energy and storage, to cost-optimally support clean energy, resiliency, and energy cost-savings targets for public and private organizations. As a member of NREL’s REopt team, she supports NREL’s internal REopt model as well as the free and publicly available REopt Lite web tool and API. Kathleen holds an MEngSc in Sustainable Energy Engineering from University College Cork (Ireland) and a BS in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering from the University of Notre Dame.
