President
DR Microgrid
With a background spanning over 20 years of building businesses, Mr. Perkins now sits as President of DR Microgrid where they protect businesses from rising utility costs and public safety power shut-offs by building advanced microgrids. They design, build and commission advanced microgrids that allow a building to island itself and continue operations in the event of an emergency grid shut down. This microgrid built to protect the business then becomes an asset to the utility company by providing grid support in times of high need by giving them access to clean, consistent power from the microgrid energy storage system, providing a revenue to the host customer.
Mr. Perkins has written white papers and op-eds for the industry and has spoken on stage in conferences, conventions. He currently sits as an advisor to the California Energy Alliance (CEA) for their DR Task team which works with the CEC to update Title 24 policy for 2022. He also is working with the Cleantech Energy Industry Roundtable and the CAEEC to help with the workforce development and utility public purpose funds (valued at over $12B). He has worked with and/or been recruited by some of the largest energy companies in the U.S. like Lockheed Martin Energy, ENERNOC, C-Power and GI Energy to acquire and aggregate Commercial and Industrial client’s energy needs.
