Samir is a member of ICF’s Distributed Grid Strategy group focused on long-term planning and energy market modeling. He specializes in grid modernization strategy and integrated distribution system planning with a focus on the impacts of DERs on the distribution system and the locational benefits of those resources. Samir’s work also includes distribution system operations as well as aspects of DER aggregation, optimization and coordination. He has worked with ICF’s team supporting the development of PG&E’s DERMS pilot and has supported the New York utilities in the context of their Distributed System Implementation Plans as part of the New York REV initiative. He continues to work with multiple clients on the topic of integrated distribution planning with a focus on aspects such as DER forecasting and hosting capacity analysis.
