Dr. Gary Dorris has been a pioneer of innovative solutions for resource planning and portfolio planning for over two decades. He has delivered expert testimony on resource planning, portfolio management, renewable integration, risk management, energy trading, and asset valuation and recently served as the lead expert for NorthWestern Energy and Hawaiian Electric in reshaping of their energy supply portfolios. His analytic vision to integrate the physical models of production costing with the financial models of energy markets has led to the development of over a dozen software applications used by over fifty energy companies. Dr. Dorris won distinguished recognition from the IPE for contributions to the field of Energy Risk Management. Dr. Dorris holds a Ph.D. in applied economics and finance from Cornell University and a BS in mechanical engineering and BA in economics with Magna Cum Laude distinction also from Cornell University.
