Energy storage is the next chapter in our storied power generation history. GE has over ten years of deep domain expertise in cell technology, battery module design, and system design. Proper system design, component validation and operating procedures have been applied to reduce the risk of a safety incident and to protect life and property should such an incident occur. In modern energy storage systems utilizing batteries, some risks are mitigated within the individual battery cells, but most are mitigated through overall design and control of the system.
