Solar is one of the fastest growing energy resources in the world! Come to this educators focused workshop to learn about the science and technology around solar energy. The energy-based content, geared towards 4th-12th grade educators, combines with standards connected classroom activities will make it easy to bring solar powered activities to your classroom. This workshop will utilize a wide array of curricula and tools from KidWind, Vernier, Solar Schoolhouse, NEED Project, REcharge Labs, and other parties to introduce you to a variety of engaging and affordable activities. Educators will learn solar curriculum, build solar fountains, construct solar powered circuits, and even go on a solar scavenger hunt to explore the trade show floor and learn about solar from industry representatives. This unique opportunity is for accredited teachers and will introduce them to how solar power works, future careers in the solar landscape, and how to implement activities in their classroom. Teachers will need to provide proof of their teacher certification and do not need any prior knowledge of solar energy. All attendees will be provided with a classroom set of materials for their classroom.
