Energy Storage is a major player in the Energy landscape of today and will keep increasing in the future. Although this is a given, the industry is still defining the prevalent technologies for the different applications. The Venice pilot project is a unique and promising example of the deployment of an experimental microgrid utilizing the most promising energy storage technologies, designed with the purpose to test and compare them in a real application environment. Even if the result of this experimentation is not yet available, the presentation is interesting for people that want to improve their knowledge on the different Energy Storage technologies of today and understand how to identify the most suitable solutions for their application.
