In the past, PV system owners and operators used volt meters and amp meters on site to help them understand how well the PV system was operating. Today, detailed monitoring of a PV system can be done remotely using new equipment and new communication strategies that take advantage of stronger Wi-Fi and Cellular networks throughout North America. And it’s not just voltage graphs anymore! Detailed pictorial graphics and smooth mobile apps can make communications a very high priority during customer acquisition and an essential part of ensuring customer ROI.
Attendees will learn more about why the cost of PV system monitoring/communication equipment is justified at almost every PV site they build. Attendees will review how they can evaluate any PV site for the best communication strategy and how different strategies benefit the customer and the PV system contractor. The seminar will focus on the three most common communication options (Wi-Fi, LAN and Cellular) and why a customer or contractor might choose one over the other. The attendees will then take a more detailed look at the installation of this equipment and troubleshooting these types of monitoring/communication systems
