Category: C&I Generation
Bryan Jacob, Solar Program Director for the Southern Alliance for Clean Energy, will offer review and discussion of SACE's "Solar in the Southeast" annual report which offers unique insights into the growth of solar photovoltaic (PV) energy in the southeast. The Southern Alliance for Clean Energy (SACE) has adopted a primary metric of Watts(AC) per Customer to enable an equitable, unbiased comparison of utilities throughout the seven state region: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee. The purpose of this report is to document current progress and trends as well as identify policies and measures to drive continued solar growth in the southeast. Though utility-scale dominates the solar market, the "Solar in the Southeast" report also illustrates progress (and market opportunities) in distributed generation (DG) solar like rooftop residential and commercial & industrial (C&I), as well. The C&I market, in particular, is emerging as a driver of significant growth for the Southeast.
