Pari Kasotia serves as the Mid-Atlantic Director for Vote Solar since 2017. In this role, she advocates for strong, equity-focused solar policies. Prior to this, Pari served as the Deputy Director of The Solar Foundation where she provided leadership and oversight, and was the lead author of the 2017 US Solar Industry Diversity Study. Pari is listed in Renewable Energy World’s Solar 40 under 40 Professionals and Midwest Energy News 40 under 40 Emerging Clean Energy Leaders. Pari also serves as the Advisory Council members of the Maryland Clean Energy Center.
Pari began her clean energy career at the Iowa Office of Energy Independence (OEI) in 2009. She was promoted to leadership roles at OEI as well as at the Iowa Economic Development Authority (IEDA). During her tenure, she undertook multi-million-dollar clean energy and energy efficiency programs.
She serves on the Board of Women’s Council for Energy and Environment and previously served as the Chair of the Renewable Energy Subcommittee of the Energy Bar Association as well as Advisory Member for the Iowa Energy Center.
She launched her non-profit initiative, Unfolding Energy, filling a critical gap to educate Iowans on the linkage between energy choices and its impact on the environment. She has made numerous presentations on energy topics. In 2017, she presented at the High-Level Event on the Sustainable Development Agenda at the United Nations Headquarters (UNHQ) in New York.
She has authored numerous clean energy articles for NJ Spotlight, PennLive, Triple Pundit, The Des Moines Register, UN Chronicle and the Des Moines Business Record and has been quoted in Solar Power World, Solar Industry Magazine, Renewable Energy Magazine, Utility Dive, Times of Trenton, TGEink, New Jersey 101.5, EndeavorNews, and Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
She holds two Master’s degree; an MBA and an MPA and a BA in Environmental Policy/Politics.
