Theresa Cerulli, M.D. is a graduate of Tufts University, University of Massachusetts Medical School, Harvard Longwood Residency Program in Adult Psychiatry, and Harvard Fellowships in Medical Psychiatry and Neuropsychiatry. Dr. Cerulli is Board Certified in Psychiatry and is on staff at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. She is the Medical Director of her private group psychiatric practice specializing in the evaluation and treatment of children, adolescents, and adults with cognitive and emotional disorders in North Andover, MA.
Dr. Cerulli received the 1997 Harvard Residency Teaching Award and has published several journal articles in the Harvard Review of Psychiatry. Dr. Cerulli has continued in her role as a member of the Harvard Medical School faculty as a Clinical Instructor, lecturing on a range of neuropsychiatric topics including Attention Deficit Disorder, Mood Disorders, and Binge Eating Disorder. She is a supervisor for the Harvard Longwood Psychiatry Residency Training Program, teaching the PGY II-IV residents. Her research experience was as a sub-investigator with East Coast Clinical Research for two Phase IV psychotropic medication trials.
Dr. Cerulli was the co-founder and prior Chief Medical Officer of ADD Health and Wellness Centers, specializing in an integrated treatment approach of children and adults with ADD/ADHD and co-existing behavioral health conditions. Her vision is in combining traditional medicine with healthy living to promote cognitive and emotional well-being. She previously served as Medical Director for the Hallowell Center and co-founder of Hallowell ADDvance. She has worked as a consultant and national speaker for Shire Pharmaceuticals, Eli Lilly, Novartis, Shionogi, Arbor, Rhodes, Takeda/Lundbeck, Neos Therapeutics, Allergan, Supernus, Sunovion, and Ironshore Pharmaceuticals in their CNS divisions. Dr. Cerulli has presented at several international conferences such as the International Consortium in Zurich, Switzerland Sept 2015, the BKJPP Conference in Mainz, Germany Oct 2015, and European Union Intuniv Launch Symposia in Bonn, Germany Feb 2016, Madrid Spain Jan 2017, Brussels, Belgium Sept 2017, and Barcelona, Spain in Oct 2017.
In addition to her clinical work and lecturing, Dr. Cerulli has served as an expert witness nationally for numerous psychiatric cases, assisting both plaintiff and defendant counsel. She is certified by the MLB to conduct Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE) evaluations for major and minor league professional baseball and has been a professional Advisory Board Member for ADDA (Adult Attention Deficit Disorder Association) and Kiwi magazine.
Dr. Cerulli has appeared on numerous television programs: channel 7, Urban Update for a debate on the use of psychotropic medications in children, a channel 5 ABC Evening News segment on learning disabilities, and WMUR Evening News on integrating mental health care. Dr. Cerulli was also interviewed on TV channel 56’s Health Watch regarding the use of Quantitative EEG. Her other media appearances include interviews with local radio stations WBCN, WESO, Radio Disney, and the Frankie Boyer Show as well as several newspaper and magazine articles. She was filmed as the moderator and ADHD expert panelist on MedicalCrossfire.com for their Psychiatric and ADHD video medical education programs.
