Dr. Lori Daniels’s clinical practice treating traumatic stress spans almost 30 years, with special emphasis on Aging and PTSD, Military Sexual Trauma, Vietnam War Veterans, and treating traumatically-based nightmares. She has provided workshops about treatment of PTSD at various international conferences (US Psychiatric & Mental Health Congress, International Society of Traumatic Stress Studies, Council of Social Work Education Annual Meetings, National Association of Social Work). An LCSW for both Oregon and Hawaii, her background includes working for inpatient and outpatient VA hospital-based PTSD programs; was the Director of the Traumatic Stress Recovery Program for the Honolulu VAM&ROC; a VA/Hartford Geriatric Social Work Scholar; and worked as the military sexual trauma counselor for the Portland Vet Center. In addition, Dr. Daniels has been a Clinical Consultant with the National Center for PTSD. Her publications include research articles in the Journal of Gerontological Social Work and Traumatology; as well as book chapters in The Handbook of Post-Traumatic Therapy; Healing War Trauma: Using Creative Approaches; and the Oxford Handbook of Social Work and Healthy Aging. She is currently an Associate Professor of Social Work at the College of Health and Society at Hawai‘i Pacific University.
