Binge eating disorder (BED) is the most prevalent eating disorder in the United States. However, only about 3% of people who meet the DSM-5 diagnostic criteria for BED receive a diagnosis and less than 40% of those diagnosed receive appropriate treatment for the condition. The clinical management of BED is complex and treatment protocols are still developing. Current evident suggests the most effective strategy is the utilization of both psychotherapy and pharmacotherapy in the treatment plan. This session will keep clinicians up-to-date on emerging evidence to best treat this patient population.
