Adult ADHD can have severe and devastating consequences for patient quality of life, yet it is significantly underrecognized and undertreated. This session will help clinicians recognize ADHD in adult patients, understand the pharmacological properties of short- and long-acting stimulants approved for the treatment of adult ADHD, and incorporate patient-appropriate stimulant pharmacotherapy and evidence-based strategies supporting medication adherence into individualized treatment plans for adult patients with ADHD. Additionally, the unique inclusion of patient perspectives will aid clinicians in relating real-world patient experiences and collaborative problem-solving strategies to best-practice care.
