Principal Planner, Hillsborough County City-County (Planning Commission)

Pedro Parra has worked as a long-range land use and policy planner in Hillsborough County since 1987, beginning as a Community Planner. His my major interest has remained community and neighborhood planning. Helping communities develop a current understanding of their liabilities and assets, and a shared vision of future short and long-range actions.
During the last three (3) years, he has had the pleasure of working with other staff from the Planning Commission and Florida Health Department in Hillsborough County, Office of Health Equity, and graduate interns in researching Health In All Policies practices in the United States, and assessing existing Comprehensive Plans in Hillsborough County, Tampa, Plant City and Temple Terrace against these practices. Beginning with the City of Tampa the intention is to integrate the concept of HiAP where they do not currently exist. Mr. Parra is currently assigned as the agency Tampa Innovation Planner, Hillsborough County Affordable Housing Advisory Board and as a liaison to community plan initiatives.
