Matt has a 12-year background in waterfront structural engineering and design, construction administration, forensic analysis, and project management. At McLaren, Matt manages and designs marine infrastructure projects for marinas, ports, piers, shipyards, and shorelines. His wide breadth of project experience ranges from inspection and analysis of aging shipyard infrastructure, design of seismic, blast, and progressive collapse structural renovations, construction administration of fender structures for ship impacts, and design of prototype FRP energy absorbing berthing dolphins.
Matt earned his B.S. and M.C.E. degrees in Civil Engineering from Johns Hopkins University. He is the Co-Chair of PIANC USA’s Young Professionals Committee, Membership Chair of the COPRI NYC Metropolitan Section, and member of the COPRI Dry Dock Standards Committee and PIANC Composites for Hydraulic Structures Working Group. In 2016, Matt was awarded the PIANC De Paepe-Willems top prize for his published contributions to the adoption of innovative composite systems in the marine engineering field.
