After graduating from the University of Washington, Don has more than 30 years experience managing, planning, permitting, and designing port, site development, transportation, and infrastructure projects. Don’s experience has focused on all types of marine infrastructure including general cargo and container facilities, shipyards, cruise terminals, ferry terminals and recreational marinas. Don has significant experience in all types of project delivery systems including traditional design-bid-build, GCCM and design-build including design management of complex transportation infrastructure projects valued in excess of $750M.
Don has been with KPFF for more than 23 years and currently manages KPFF’s Special Projects group with a staff of over 90 and offices in Seattle, Tacoma and Long Beach.
Don has been married to Kristi Oates for over 27 years and lives in Woodinville Washington. Don has 2 kids – Zack a recent graduate of Gonzaga University and Kenzi a Junior at the University of Washington.
