Alistair Boyce is a Chartered Professional engineer based in Christchurch, New Zealand, and has been working in the field of ports engineering for over 10 years. His experience includes the design and asset management of wharf structures at a number of New Zealand ports whilst working for WSP Opus. He was heavily involved in several earthquake recovery projects at Lyttelton Port of Christchurch from 2010 to 2015, including the earthquake repairs to a coal export wharf and the construction of a new seismically resilient container wharf. From 2016 to 2019 Alistair worked closely with CentrePort on several other earthquake recovery projects, one of which is the subject of this presentation. Earlier in 2019 Alistair started a new role as Engineering Manager at Lyttelton Port of Christchurch, where he is working on a wide range of projects, includng the upgrade and asset management of existing wharf structures, and the planning for a new container wharf and terminal.
