Nicholas Leon, Pharm.D., BCPS, BCACP, FCPP is an associate professor at the Thomas Jefferson University, Jefferson College of Pharmacy in Philadelphia, PA. He is a graduate of the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia and completed a PGY-1 pharmacy practice residency at the New Mexico Veteran Affairs Healthcare System in Albuquerque, NM and a PGY-2 ambulatory care residency at the University of Maryland, School of Pharmacy in Baltimore, MD. Since 2009, as part of his teaching responsibilities, Dr. Leon has practiced as an ambulatory care clinical specialist at the Penn Center for Primary Care where he was the first pharmacist to provide comprehensive medication management and chronic disease management services. He is a past-president of the Pennsylvania Pharmacists Association (PPA) and continues to serve as the chair of the board of directors for the Pennsylvania Pharmacists Care Network (PPCN). Since 2008, Dr. Leon has frequently volunteered as a clinic pharmacist for Global Medical Brigades in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. Additionally, he is an alum of AACP’s Academic Leaders Fellowship Program (cohort 13), is dual certified as a specialist in pharmacotherapy and ambulatory care by the Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS), and was elected into Fellowship at the College of Physicians of Philadelphia in 2017.
