Rick has spent over 25 years as an Analytical Chemist detecting contaminants in water and waste water. His current chemical interests are emerging contaminants in water and other matrices. After receiving his B.S. in Biology at Baldwin-Wallace University, his interests in water science took a forefront with his Indiana State University M.A. thesis titled “Determination of Volatile Organic Compounds in Waste Water.” With over 35 years experience in Analytical Chemistry he has taught analytical methods to scientists from several countries.
Emergency response and emergency preparedness are major interests including teaching of seminars to colleagues and the public, being a member of CERT and Emergency Response Teams, and a HAM operator.
