Dot. Markos Karavitakis is a Urological Surgeon based on Athens Greece. He also holds a University Scholar Visiting Position at the Department of Urology, University General Hospital Of Heraklion, Medical School, Heraklion, Crete, Greece. After completing his basic urological training, he completed a laparoscopic and robotic fellowship in France, Clinique St Augustin, Bordeaux under the supervision of R. Gaston. He then consolidated his laparoscopic and endourological experience working in Spain at Hospital PonteVedra and in London, UK at Charing Cross Hospital , Imperial College London NHS Trust. He holds a PhD from University of Athens and two Master Degrees one from University of Athens in Minimally Invasive Surgery, Robotic Surgery and Telesurgery and one from Imperial College, London in Surgical Science. His main research area and clinical expertise is laparoscopic/robotic surgery and endourology. He has lectured and published widely on topics related to his areas of interest. He is an associate member of European Association of Urology Guidelines Office and he is the current treasurer of Hellenic Urological Association.
