Francis X. Keeley, Jr. MD FRCS (Urol)
Born and raised in New Jersey, USA, Frank graduated from Duke University in North Carolina with a degree in chemistry in 1986 and then from Washington University in St. Louis in 1990 with a medical degree. He trained in general surgery and urology at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia. He completed a 2-year endourology fellowship in Edinburgh before taking up the post of Consultant Urologist at the Bristol Urological Institute in 1998.
He has clinical and research interests in the minimally invasive treatment of kidney stones, kidney cancer, upper tract TCC, and pelvi-ureteric junction obstruction. He has acted as a mentor in endourology and laparoscopic surgery for 30 consultant urologists in the UK and abroad.
He has served as Honorary Secretary of the British Association of Urological Surgeons as well as the Honorary Treasurer of the BJU International journal company and a member of the Interventional Procedures Advisory Committee of the National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE).
