The Arc of Maryland
Ande’s career includes over 27 years of experience supporting people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities and their families. She has been the Executive Director of The Arc Maryland since 2017. Prior to returning to The Arc family, her most recent position was the Executive Director for Compass, Inc., a private non-profit organization specializing in Residential and Employment Services for people with co-occurring Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities and Mental Health Conditions living in Montgomery, Prince George’s, Howard, and Charles Counties.
Throughout her career, Ande has served in different administrative capacities for four local chapters of The Arc in Maryland over a period of 13 years (Prince George’s County, Howard County, Baltimore, and Montgomery County). Her experience also includes service on several nonprofit Boards of Directors. She is a current commissioner for the Howard County Commission on Disabilities.
Ande holds a bachelor’s degree in Music Therapy from the University of Iowa and a Master’s Degree in Special Education with a Concentration in Severe Disabilities from The Johns Hopkins University. She lives with her family in Glenwood, MD and enjoys acting in Musical Theater and volunteering.
