National Leadership Consortium on Developmental Disabilities
Cory Gilden, M.Ed., is a graduate research assistant with the National Leadership Consortium on Developmental Disabilities in the Department of Human Development and Family Studies at the University of Delaware. For the past year, Cory served as the project manager for the I/DD Provider Survey on Self-Directed Supports and Services, which examined the catalysts and barriers to self-directed service delivery for adults with disabilities. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in English in 2000 from the University of Delaware, where she returned to earn her master’s degree in Education in 2006. Cory has been an elementary school educator, coalition director, journalist, and curriculum writer and is currently working toward a Ph.D. in Urban Affairs and Public Policy at the University of Delaware. She works closely with organizations such as the Center for Disabilities Studies at UD, Parent Information Center of Delaware, and Autism Delaware advocating for people with disabilities.
