Hand stitch a collage sampler using techniques inspired by boro textiles from Japan! Gain thel skills for sashiko stitching and visible mending to use in your hand stitching repertoire. Use antique boro fabrics as the basis for iinspiration, then practice basic stitches and demonstrate several mending and patching techniques. Students will be given the opportunity to use several different needles and threads, and to notice preferences for how tools interact with fabrics.
