Wellness and Workplace Development
7th Annual Gulf-Atlantic Veterinary Conference
These are challenging times for health care professionals. Veterinary professionals report experiencing professional burnout, a syndrome characterized by exhaustion, cynicism and reduced effectiveness. Although burnout is a systemic issue, many organizations operate under the framework that burnout and professional satisfaction are solely the responsibility of the individual. There is a strong business case for practices and organizations investing in efforts to reduce professional burnout and promote engagement. Deliberate, sustained and comprehensive efforts by the organization can make a difference. This seminar will review low-cost strategies aimed at promoting veterinary professional engagement and how to successfully implement these strategies in the workplace.
