Most dogs and cats presented for professional dental hygiene visits have halitosis. Removing plaque and tartar from teeth helps temporarily but does not identify the root cause of the oral malodor. This seminar will share the importance of a tooth-by-tooth examination including, six-point probing, mobility checking and intraoral radiography. Recording the exam results creates a roadmap for the veterinarian to design a therapy plan.
