Better Than Homeownership: How Smart Community Technology Is Elevating Renting

Thursday, April 11
11:30 AM - 12:30 PM
Location: 362CF

Smart technology is forcing unprecedented changes on the rental housing industry. Units equipped with connected locks, lights, and thermostats are garnering attention for their resident-facing amenity benefits, but the change and opportunity represented by smart technologies goes beyond the unit. In this session, the panel will define the components of a smart community and discuss how to evaluate smart hardware needs both inside and outside the unit. In addition, the panel will identify the integrations between smart hardware and the existing property management software that is necessary to extract full value from an owner's investment.
