A new analytical modeling strategy was developed to model a tested ABC bridge which utilizes rocking columns with debonded prestressing strands and reinforcement for seismic zones. the debonded reinforcement was modeled using external elements which were connected to the column element using rigid elements at their corresponding arms. An analytical model was developed using Opensees for the ABC Bridge implementing the suggested strategy to capture the global and local responses. By incorporating a fatigue material with the reinforcement steel model, this strategy showed good agreement with the measured responses. The calibrated analytical model then was used to explore methods to improve the performance of the system by delaying reinforcing steel fracture.
