Full Session without Abstracts
The SEI/ASCE Structures Congress provides a unique opportunity for practicing structural engineers, researchers, and university educators to come together to discuss and share their views on the current and future education of structural engineers. The proposed panel session will provide a forum for active discussions on strategies to engage, upskill, and promote structural engineering education in the face of growing challenges in education and practice and the important boundary stakeholder: the Adjunct Professor.
The session will be in an open discussion, Q&A format, where the moderator will initiate and direct the discussion through questions and then let the panel engage in a lively discussion with the audience. A total of four distinguished panelists (2 practitioners and 2 academics) are being sought to participate in this important panel discussion session.
The panel will be asked questions suggested by arrange of stakeholders including, the CROSEE Committee of SEI, and Young Professionals Committee of ASCE’s Structural Engineering Institute (SEI). During the panel active audience participation will be sought through mobile app–based opinion tools and tis feedback will be fed to the CROSEE Committee.
