Screening Co-Director

I joined Cincinnati Children’s Hospital lentiviral screening core in 2016. We specialize in full-genome screens for in vitro cell-based assays using either Sigma’s shRNA libraries for mouse or human, or The Broad Institute’s cDNA library. To perform these assays, we utilize Beckman Coulter Biomek FX liquid handling robots and BioTek high-throughput automated imagers with image analysis capability. We are also interrogating a recently procured small molecule library to identify and develop novel therapeutic compounds on which CCHMC will hold intellectual property. Our screening core has completed about a dozen full-genome screens using the lentiviral genomic libraries and are progressing through our first screen with the small molecule library consisting of ~350,000 compounds. I have an extensive background in molecular and cell biology as well as recombinant protein expression and purification.
