Bradley J. Artel, MD, FACC, FASE is a Medical Director of New England Regional Care Management for Aetna, a CVS Health Company. A native of New York City, he received his MD degree from Tel-Aviv University in Israel and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at NYU Medical Center and Bellevue Hospital. He went on to complete a fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease at Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia before returning to NYU as an attending noninvasive cardiologist specializing in non-invasive imaging. He has a passion for ultrasound, and is board certified in adult echocardiography as well as general cardiology. He has been elected a Fellow of the American Society of Echocardiography, and after 16 years of clinical practice, he went on to develop the cardiac imaging section of a national medical imaging company, serving as Chief Medical Officer prior to joining Aetna in 2016. He currently serves the company as a subject matter expert in cardiology, and performs utilization review for all aspects of medicine including acute hospitalizations, post-acute care, and pre-certification requests for Commercial and Managerd Medicare lines of business. He maintains an appreciation for all forms of non-invasive cardiac imaging, and serves on Aetna's Clinical Policy Council and on the Cardiology Clinical Insights & Analytics team, which constantly reviews the medical literature to provide updates to Aetna's clinical polity guidelines.
