Nelson Mandela Children's Hospital and University of Witwatersrand
Professor Hopewell Ntsinjana is the head of Paediatric Cardiology at Nelson Mandela Children's Hospital and an Associate Professor of Paediatrics and Child health with the School of Clinical Medicine at University of the Witwatersrand. Prof Ntsinjana holds a medical degree (MBBCH) from University of the Witwaterstrand obtained in 2000. He also has a fellowship in Paediatrics (FCPaed) [2006] from the Colleges of Medicine of South Africa (CMSA) and a Certificate in Paediatric Cardiology (Cert Cardiol Paediatrics) [2009] from the same Colleges of Medicine.
Prof Ntsinjana went on to train in advanced Cardiac Imaging at Great Ormond Street Hospital for sick Children in the United Kingdom. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from University College London with a Thesis titled: Advanced Imaging and Engineering Techniques for Assessment of Anatomical and Physiological Consequences of the Arterial Switch Operation. He has published in both local and international Scientific Journals and serves as a reviewer for many local and international journals.
He is a member of the Society for Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance imaging, current President of the Paediatric Cardiac Society of South Africa, and Vice President of South African Heart Association. He serves as one of the directors and sits on the board of the South African Heart Association.
