Consultant Cardiologist

Dr Dan Knight is a Consultant Cardiologist at the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust and Honorary Senior Lecturer at the Institute of Cardiovascular Science, University College London (UCL). He helped set up the UCL Department of Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance (CMR) at the Royal Free Hospital where he currently works, and also works in the National Pulmonary Hypertension Service at the Royal Free. He started the MR-guided right heart catheterization (MR-RHC) programme in late 2017 which has developed into a routine clinical procedure that is integrated within the CMR and Pulmonary Hypertension services. His research interests include the development of novel CMR biomarkers in pulmonary hypertension using MR-RHC and MR-cardiopulmonary exercise testing, and myocardial tissue characterization in scleroderma. He receives funding for his work from the British Heart Foundation and the National Institute for Health Research UCLH Biomedical Research Centre.
