Royal Society-EPSRC Dorothy Hodgkin Research Fellow
Institute of Cardiovascular Science, University College London
Dr Jennifer Steeden is a Royal Society-EPSRC Dorothy Hodgkin Research Fellow at the Centre for Cardiovascular Imaging,
within the Institute of Cardiovascular Science at University College London (UCL).
The main focus of her research is to develop novel acquisition and reconstruction techniques for cardiovascular magnetic resonance imaging (CMR), which have a direct impact in the clinical environment. One of her primary aims is to reduce the need for patient cooperation and to lower scan times. This makes CMR more accessible, allowing improvements in scan efficiency and ultimately reduces waiting times for patients. This challenging area of MR physics requires specialist acquisition and reconstruction techniques. She has extensive experience in development of non-Cartesian MR sequences, as well as on-line reconstruction techniques including SENSE, Compressed Sensing and Machine Learning.
