Dr. Juliette Roddy is an Economist, a Professor at the University of Michigan Dearborn, and the Graduate Studies Director within the Criminology and Criminal Justice Department. She teaches numerous courses in the economics of health and healthcare, health and criminal justice policy, restorative justice, poverty and inequality and program evaluation. Dr. Roddy’s research interests focus on the economics of substance use, recovery, incarceration and re-entry. She is an expert on injection drug use, re-entry, marijuana use and policy and sex work. She is a trained facilitator in restorative conferencing. Her work has been funded by local, regional and national agencies including the National Institute on Drug Abuse, the National Science Foundation, the National Institutes of Justice, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, the Graham Environmental Sustainability Institute, the Urban Research Center, and the Michigan Institute for Community Health Research. She has published many journal articles and book chapters and presents regularly at national meetings. Dr. Roddy serves on the University of Michigan Ann Arbor Institutional Review Board as oversight for human subjects’ research also serving as the board’s prisoner representative. She is an enrolled member of the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians.
