Marylana Saadeh Helou, JD, is an attorney at Verrill LLP and a member of its Academic and Clinical Research Group. Marylana focuses her practice on transactional and regulatory matters affecting a wide range of clients in the healthcare industry, including health systems, hospitals, academic medical centers, and pharmaceutical and medical device companies. In particular, Marylana has experience advising clients on regulatory considerations related to clinical research and health data privacy, including, but not limited to, assisting clients in navigating the requirements under the Common Rule, the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, state data protection and privacy laws, and the Food and Drug Administration regulations. Marylana is also a member of an IRB at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts.
Marylana received her law degree from Boston University School of Law. While in law school, Marylana interned at the Office of the General Counsel at Partners HealthCare Systems, Inc., the Massachusetts U.S. Attorney’s Office as part of the Health Care Fraud Unit, and served as a judicial intern for Honorable Magistrate Judge Judith G. Dein of the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts.
